Joe Mueller – Selfless Hero who Gave the Gift of Life to Others
Joe Mueller was a very amazing man. He was kind and gentle with a sweet nature that made him a joy to be with. He was totally a selfless person that gave himself to others around him. Joe donated countless hours to the Boy Scouts of America programs in St. Louis. He donated time at our church and worked several fundraisers each month to raise money for our parish school. Joe always felt education of children and the support of family were the most important things he could do to help our young people in the community. He always saw a need that others had and and never thought of his own wants or needs. He never liked the limelight and did everything he could do to avoid it. Joe was a wonderful uncle to our 34 nieces and nephews and he was a surrogate uncle to many of our friends’ children. He was a loving son, son-in-law, brother-in-law, brother and husband.
“He was totally a selfless person that gave himself to others around him.”
When the end came for Joe and we knew that nothing else could be done to help him, our family decided he could give of himself one last time. His heart was bad and his kidneys were failing, but he could give the gift of sight, bone marrow, and other things that could help others in need. Giving was such an important part of Joe’s character when he was alive and in his death it continued to be so. One last loving and giving act can touch so many lives. The gift of life is precious! Pass it on.
His loving wife,
Patty
