My son Cody always knew being a donor was the right thing to do. He'd stated to his sister, Tara, “ya can’t take them with ya.” So when he died instantly in an accident in January, 2009, his wife agreed and Cody was able to donate his corneas and bone tissue. I, his mom, met Charlotte, who received one of Cody’s corneas and as difficult as that was (I cried the 4 hour ride home) it was still amazing and a blessing from God to look into her eyes and know a part of my son was there and to know that he was able to help her. Charlotte reached out to us first and was truly thankful for Cody and what he had given her! We learned a few years later that his bone tissue had helped over 120 people, and although we did not hear from any of them we know that he blessed their lives too! We are very proud of Cody. He is our Hero always and a Hero to his recipients!
