On November 10th 2014, my whole life changed when I was told by the doctors that there was nothing else that they could do for my son, Martwan Hill. I was so heartbroken, just hurting knowing that I couldn't spend the rest of my life with my son π So later that night, a team member from Mid-America Transplant came in to talk to me and my family about organ and tissue donation, something that I've heard about but never signed up for. Neither had my son, so his father and I decided to donate his organs, knowing the person my son was- loving, giving, and would do anything for anybody. We made the decision to donate to save someone's life and also so that someone would get a second chance at life, something that my son didn't get. He was tested and it came back that he was able to donate at that time to a beautiful family waiting for a second chance at life. I was so heartbroken to lose my son, but at the same time, I knew someone's life was saved through his donation. We know that his life lives to this day, and five years later to the day, March 30, 2020, the donor is doing great and the organ is still working great. I was so happy to meet and spend time with my extended family. That makes me so much more at peace knowing my son is living again through others. We talk on the phone with each other, we spend time with each other, and just love on each other. Although my son is not here, his organs are living so he can live on and I'm thankful to God for the lives he saved. Give someone another chance at life!!! MARTWAN HILL LIFE LIVES ONππππππ
