On June 29,2017 my world came crashing to a HALT, meanwhile my beautiful baby girl was saving lives!
My youngest child (Katlyn, age 13) was involved in a vehicle accident along with her brother and 6 other teenagers. Fatefully, she was the only one called to start serving above!
She was in I.C.U at Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital for 10 days, and that's when I found out she was 100% brain dead.
I happened to run into a very good friend who had lost her child the year prior who became a donor, and was so relieved and happy for her child. And then she said..."have you even given it a thought?"
I said "NO MY BABY IS ONLY 13!!!!" BUT, it got my mind racing and I concluded, if I'm facing this tragedy, why not help someone else's family face a miracle?
So myself and Katlyn's older two siblings decided YES WE WANT HER TO BE A HERO TO OTHERS!
On June 29, 2017 at 3 A.M. Katlyn was able to save 3 recipients!!
It has REALLY REALLY helped me, as well as my other kids, mourn and accept her untimely, tragic departure from us, by realizing she lives on and so do 3 others because of her!!
