Due to getting a bad deal in life Mitch lived most of his time in pain due to a rare chronic illness called Vasculitis. In his time here on Earth he got to marry the love of his life, take on a step-son, and have a son of his own. He always wanted to help others any chance he got - no matter what his pain level was. The more he helped the better he seemed to feel. It was discussed many times that although his organs may not be viable for donation due to his disease and the medications he took as a result, he wanted to either donate his body to science or donate any organ that could possibly be used. They were able to use his skin donation to create 10 skin grafts that can be used to help others. Being able to give permission to donate anything that could be used helped make the pain of losing him a little more bearable.
