Two weeks before Christmas in 2020, I received the phone call no parent wants. My 19-year-old daughter, Autumn, was involved in a fatal car accident and the only person involved. About 10 months later, my brother Nick was struck from behind on his motorcycle from a hit and run intoxicated driver and killed. Both were so very special and very close to me. I've worn my Donate Life bracelet since then. They were both registered donors unbeknownst to me. I just pray one day I get to meet or talk to the recipients that they both helped. It has definitely changed my whole outlook on donating my organs. I immediately became a donor on my driver's license. My daughter Autumn and my brother Nick are true heroes who continue to save lives even when theirs were lost.
